ABOUT

ABOUT US

On a beautiful spring day, a few years ago, we surveyed our lives during a walk in the woods. We had a nice house, a nice job, 3 children who were ready to stand on their own two feet, almost 60 years, what had ever been left behind? What had ever been snowed under in the rush of life?

Walking, musing, fantasizing, …. gradually the idea grew to expand something. We were soon convinced that it was not possible in Belgium. Life moves so fast, people live so close to each other, nature is only moderately present and we cannot force ourselves to slow down. And so the search began…

We bought a house with a barn in France. From the very beginning, we were convinced to convert the traditional barn, with its fantastic original roof trusses, into a sleeping area. That's how it happened.

Downstairs there is now a holiday home for 4 people and upstairs we are planning 2 more guest rooms. Because we want our place to share with everyone who likes to pass by, we offer the opportunity to enjoy a moment with his camper on the grass between the trees or to set up his tent in our quiet garden.

You enjoy the silence, the tranquility of nature, a nice walk or nice bike ride, a good book by the pool or in the hammock between the oaks and we will spoil you with an extensive breakfast and offer the opportunity to taste our cooking skills with honest products.

The region offers so many opportunities to “peace seekers”, but also to walkers and cyclists. In addition to the existing “mapped” walks, we have also developed our own tours (both by bike and on foot) and offer walking packages. Organized multi-day walks through the region, or on the nearby Compostella route, with or without a "walking coach", where you walk from location to location with luggage transport.

Above all, we want to be a place where everyone feels welcome, a place to relax, where there is time for a chat and  In the evenings muse by the fire pit and enjoy the fantastic starry sky and the owl's cry in silence. But above all a place to just be and be allowed to be.

CARE FOR MOTHER EARTH

We have chosen to live closer to nature. There is only one earth and we are convinced that we should take care of it as best we can, because taking care of the earth is taking care of yourself, and taking care of the future.

We have a large vegetable garden where we grow vegetables without using chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

We cook as much as possible with vegetables from our own vegetable garden. The jam and other juices are also made in-house.

The detergents and washing products are ecologically responsible, sheets and towels are made of organic cotton.

We recover the rainwater, waste is composted or sorted.

We also try to use local products as much as possible.

These are small steps, but we believe they also help.
